“Shane, remind me to send you a virus.”

Welcome to episode 65 of our weekly Android podcast, AotA. Mat Lee here joined by Eric, Shane, and Joey. On this week’s show we talk about Eric’s Nexus 4, Google shutting some more services down, Eric Schmidt declares victory, some new Better or Worse, CyanogenMod updates, this week’s app picks and so much more. Thanks for listening.

Eric got a Nexus 4. Please, tell us all about your experience with LG’s latest and greatest.

Google gets down on some winter cleaning. Several services related to Google Calendar will be shut down at the end of January 30th 2013. I’m pretty sure none of you are going to notice this change. Android Central has the article here.

Eric Schmidt has declared victory for Android in it’s never ending patent war against Apple. I’m glad you ladies finally worked this out. But you know we haven’t seen the end of Patent Wars. Honestly, who cares, just keep making cool technology. CNN has an article about it here.

In a bit we lovingly call Better or Worse, we re examine the Facebook for Android app. It’s gone from WORSE to much better with this last update. Check it out on Google Play here.

For the next Better or Worse, we take a look at the latest update for the Google+ app. Better, but what’s the deal with the emoticons? Hey, how are you feeling? Please choose from one of 8 faces. At least they could have used Androids. I feel like they completely missed a huge opportunity. The full size photo back ups are nice. Stay tuned to the end of the show for an additional Better or Worse. One word: Currents…

Google+ VS Facebook, what are you using? Most of us are on both. But we’re definitely not the normal use case. With Communities, Google+ is becoming way more mature as a social network. The fact is, none of my real life friends are using it. They are still all over Facebook, but that’s ok. Google+ is ours.

CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies go live for a handful of devices. Android Central has the article here.

Google enables scan and match to the U.S. music store. I used this the other day when I was uploading the new Dropkick Murphy’s album to my Google Music. It happened pretty much instantly. I love my Google Music! The Verge has an article about it here.
