“They make awesome tvs, and burner phones.”
Here we go, thanks for checking out episode 55 of our weekly Android podcast Attack of the Androids. Mat Lee here with another great panel of Android funboys. Shane wrote a review of the Samsung S550 Chromebook over on aNewDomain. Check it out here.
Do you think the 10 inch tablet is a good idea or a waste of time? Drop us a comment!
Google drops Android 4.1.2 on AOSP, those of you with a Nexus 7 might have gotten an update. Now you can turn it sideways. Those of us on custom roms have been turning them sideways for a while now. Read the article on Android Community.
Do people know the difference between Android versions? We think maybe not, but they know their phone looks different than their friends phone. But that’s all UI magic, or lack thereof. If everyone ran vanilla Android, things would be a lot easier.
If you develop Android tablet apps, now you have an easy to follow checklist to make sure your app works and looks good on tablets.
While we’re talking rumors, check out the HTC Droid Incredible X that should be coming to Verizon sometime in the near future. It’s like a Droid X and a Droid Incredible had a weird baby. Interested?
Ok, and one last rumor, Samsung might be making the Google Nexus 10 tablet. Which brings us to the question I started these notes with. Is there really a need for a ten inch tablet?
The Red Bull Stratos jump was supposed to happen, but since the weather was crappy it didn’t. This gives us a chance to let you know about the Red Bull TV app. This is going to be cool to watch, so check it out. You can also watch it on YouTube.
Here’s a new game we’re going to play. It’s called, is this interesting, or is it link bait? This one is called Ten Ways to Make Your Android Smarter. What do you think?
Just in case you need one more zombie game, Gameloft is going to release Zombiewood on Halloween.
Gameloft has also released a game powered by the Unreal Engine. It’s called Wild Blood. It’s six bucks, so if that’s your thing, check it out.
